Northlake Pilates Studio
Wanaka’s home of genuine Reformer Pilates.
Led by experience, trusted by locals.
At Northlake Pilates we offer Reformer Pilates delivered to the highest standard, in small groups, by one of the most experienced Pilates teaching teams in Wanaka.
Our studio is known for excellent instruction, thoughtful programming, and passionate teachers who are deeply committed to supporting our community to move well for years to come.
Whether you’re new to Pilates or have been practising for years, you’ll be guided by attentive, considered teaching that helps you feel stronger, more capable and confident in your body.
Pilates with purpose
Reformer Pilates is not just exercise; it’s a method built on precision, progression and a deep understanding of the body in motion.
At Northlake Pilates, classes are thoughtfully sequenced and expertly taught. We prioritise quality of movement, appropriate load and meaningful progression, ensuring clients are supported to move safely and effectively in every class.
Our instructors teach with presence, offering guidance with choreography and personalised correction. This allows for learning, refinement and confidence to develop over time for each individual.
The result is movement that feels purposeful, sustainable and genuinely supportive of how you live, work and move in the world.
Reformer Pilates classes
Group Reformer Pilates is the heart of Northlake Pilates. These classes are where strength, skill and confidence are developed through considered teaching, consistent progression and attention to individual movement needs within a small-group setting.
We offer a clear class pathway designed to support our clients to move forward with confidence: Essentials (Level 1), Progress (Level 2) and Advanced (Level 3). Each level builds on the last, allowing clients to develop in a sustainable way.
Open Reformer classes are also available. These are true mixed-ability sessions where options and guidance are offered in each exercise, allowing clients to work at the level that is appropriate on the day.
Our classes are coached with intention. Exercises are layered, with modifications and progressions introduced thoughtfully, ensuring every client feels supported while being appropriately challenged.
Group Reformer classes at Northlake Pilates are for people who value quality instruction, steady progression and movement that supports life beyond the studio.
Specialised Programs
Alongside our group Reformer classes, we offer specialised training options for those seeking more personalised support, targeted outcomes, or a more specific training focus.
Each offering is delivered with the same care, experience and attention to detail that defines our studio.
Private Pilates
Private sessions offer one on one training, tailored to your individual needs and goals.
Private Pilates is suited to people who are returning from injury, managing ongoing pain, preparing for or recovering from surgery, training for performance, or simply seeking a more personalised approach. This format allows for deeper focus, precise progression, detailed discussion and dedicated support.
We work with athletes, dancers and gymnasts to support specific strength and conditioning requirements. Pilates is a highly effective way to develop control and movement efficiency, enhancing performance and reducing the risk of injury.
Bones and Balance
Bones and Balance is a specialised Reformer Pilates Programme supporting bone health, balance and lower-body strengthening. Designed for adults aged 55 and above, these classes are carefully structured to support safe progression, confidence in movement and long-term independence.
This class has been assessed and approved by WellSouth + ACC as part of the Live Stronger for Longer movement.
Postnatal Pilates
Our Postnatal Reformer Pilates programme is designed to support mothers to reconnect with movement after welcoming a new baby.
Classes focus on breath, posture and restoring core and pelvic floor as we build strength and confidence in the body over time. Mums can attend with, or without their baby in this highly supportive and tailored programme. A safe, inclusive environment is provided where there is no pressure to rush or perform.
We encourage Postnatal clients to contact us prior to booking so we can advise and guide you into the most appropriate class for your individual needs.
TRX Training
TRX Training at Northlake Pilates is a technique-led strength programme designed to build functional strength, control and resilience. Classes run for 45 minutes, allowing time for clear instruction, thoughtful progression and quality movement throughout.
TRX strength training complements Pilates beautifully; it’s challenging, highly effective, boosts endorphins and as always, is coached with care and integrity.
Trusted by locals
Northlake Pilates is proud to be one of Wanaka’s top-rated Pilates Studios, with consistent five-star reviews from clients who value quality teaching, individual guidance and a supportive studio environment.
Our clients come to us for a variety of reasons. While individual motivation differs from person to person what unites them is a shared appreciation for Pilates taught with care, precision and respect for the individual.
The relationships we build with our clients are at the heart of the studio and the trust placed in our team is something we deeply value.
"What I love most about Caroline's classes is the focus on movement integrity.
It is so easy to get caught up in working-out purely to achieve a certain aesthetic that we forget movement is first and foremost important for everyday function and mobility.
Caroline creates a caring and nourishing culture at the studio.
It is refreshing to focus on goals such as improving spinal mobility and range of motion, in addition to building strength."

Here’s my story.
I thought Pilates and Yoga was for ladies, I was completely wrong. I’m 59, exercised all my life, I have had various injuries and I am very inflexible. Getting out of bed or putting on my socks was a real struggle and I had put this down to old age.
My wife was sick of me moaning and booked me in for Private Pilates. It’s the best thing I’ve done! I am now flexible, feel great and love my weekly class, I can even touch my toes. The wife is smiling.
Caroline and her team are professional and extremely experienced. I should have done this years ago!

Leading the way with integrity
Northlake Pilates was founded with a clear intention: to offer our community a Pilates local. A place where classes are taught to the highest standard in an environment where people feel supported and confident in themselves while improving their bodies.
Everything we do, from class design to instructor development, is grounded in respect for the Pilates method and the people who practise it.
We believe Pilates should support life beyond the studio. Our offerings are designed not to simply challenge, but to help clients build resilience and confidence that carries into everyday life.
Our People
The teaching team is the heartbeat of Northlake Pilates.
Together our instructors bring decades of combined industry and clinical experience, creating a studio where knowledge, care and professionalism are felt in every class.
Each member of the team shares a commitment to thoughtful instruction and genuine attention to the individual. While every instructor brings their own strengths, the philosophy remains consistent; Pilates taught with integrity and respect for the body.
All of our instructors have additional training in areas such as injury/post-op rehabilitation, sports-specific strength and conditioning, prenatal/postnatal exercise, stress management and mental wellbeing. This depth of knowledge enables us to take an adaptable approach and support a wide range of clients.
Our talented and highly skilled team ensure every client is guided with expertise and attention, whether they are stepping onto a Reformer for the first time or deepening a long-standing Pilates practice.
